Branding Expert, Marketing Strategist and Intuitive Business Coach, Alyssa Pfennig guides high-vibe female entrepreneurs, experts and leaders at the top of their industry into their next level of success through personal brand strategy and intuitive business coaching. After realizing in 2012 that her role as COO in a company that no longer aligned with her was a quick route to burnout, she followed her heart into entrepreneurship. She’s seen many businesses come to fruition, like a 2,500 square foot yoga and wellness studio in broad ripple (which she sold for six figures). Tell us more, Alyssa!

My Maven Superpower is … Seeing beyond the obvious and my intuition

Self-care habits I swear by … Tango dancing! I go 1-2x per week…and a regular qigong practice, Pilates reformer and yoga nidra meditation at night (okay, yes, habits!)

My first job was … At age 14, making pizzas at Harsi’s Subs n’ Pizza (which still exists) off of 34th St.

The best career advice I can offer is Know your worth and always ask for what you want…the worst they can say is no. And if you find yourself in a place to negotiate a salary, give a range with the lowest you’ll accept (without undervaluing yourself) and the midpoint is what you’d really like…the high point is just icing on the cake, because who knows, they may give it to you.

I feel most confident when … I’m speaking in front of an audience about living your most authentic life and personal branding. But I must admit, I also embody a lot of confidence after dancing tango, salsa…you name it.

A purchase I’ve been loving lately … My clothes from Stitch Fix. I always feel super confident and sexy in what they pick out.

The thing I’ve been binging lately is … Cobra Kai (insert fit pump here)…well, after Firefly Lane ran out…as a mama of a toddler, it’s mostly Peppa Pig and Frozen right now…

The skill I most want to learn is… How to be an even better tango dancer…

My favorite local dishSmash Burger at Turchetti’s

A fun fact about me… I boxed in the Indiana Golden Gloves when I was 16.

Something I would like to celebrate… For me, it’s less about career achievements and more about personal development. I went through a huge heart opening process in the last year and have stepped into my self-worth more than ever before, which opens the doors to all kinds of magical experiences. What would I like to celebrate? All of that because it’s a shit ton of work and dedication to level up and deal with your family of origin crap, but maybe also a recent 5-day sacred pilgrimage in northeastern Mexico with my toddler. We spent two days in the desert, hunted for peyote (yes, you read that right!), and hell, we rode up and down a mountain on horseback. How many toddlers do you know doing that? So, I’d also like to celebrate being a brave and fierce mama raising a fierce, wild daughter.

What’s next for me is… I’m finally going to finish the book I have half written on facing the shadow side of motherhood and embracing your rebirth, so expect a big book launch in the next few years. Plus, I plan on taking my agency to 7 figures. No more pussyfootin’ around. Let’s do this.
