Foster Care Coordinator Jamila Nwokorie’s goldendoodle may run the show at home, but she is a master of planting small seeds that make a big impact. Having worked in social services for 20 years in Indianapolis in a variety of roles and programs, Jamila spends a short period of time in peoples lives that she hopes will make a difference. When she’s not working, she has two children that she enjoys spending time with, one on the cusp of graduation and another who just began high school. Your turn now, Jamila!

My Maven Superpower is … Engagement.

Self-care habits I swear by … Morning quiet time, even if it’s 5 minutes, and exercising.

My first job was … at The Gap.

The best career advice I can offer is Stay true to you and your beliefs.

I feel most confident when … I feel good.  Whether it be mentally, as in, I am confident on the topic I am presenting on. Or when I just killed a hard workout and am feeling physically strong. When I’ve hydrated myself, or just indulged in a facial mask. When I feel good inside and out, I am my most confident self.

A purchase I’ve been loving lately … My Laural Denise Planner, it’s an odd concept, but that’s why I love it!

The thing I’ve been binging lately is … Firefly Lane

The skill I most want to learn is… Well, right now I have two. Salsa dancing and the fancy hand lettering all over the place.

My favorite local dishRight now, I’m loving the Laarb salad from I love Thai Sushi.

A fun fact about me… I love to craft and country music! I would love to start a blog.

Something I would like to celebrate… I recently completed the ACES training to be a Master Trainer.

What’s next for me is… I really hope to develop my training/development and presenting muscle. I want to spread my positive energy to other areas in an effort to empower people in a variety of sectors to be their best selves. I want to expand and share my knowledge base as I have a lot of interests and passions and am a lifelong learner who desires to share my knowledge with others.
