6 Indy Shops to Get the Nancy Meyers Look for Your Home

More than 30 years later, the Nancy Meyers Aesthetic is going strong.

It’s been 33 years since Nancy Meyers hooked moviegoers with the charming home in “Father of the Bride,” but the filmmaker’s knack for stunning interiors is as relevant as ever, thanks to “Nancy Meyers Aesthetic” going viral on TikTok. According to PopSugar, “the tag on TikTok has already amassed more than 17.8 million videos on the platform,” and Pinterest’s 2024 summer trends report noted that searches for “Nancy Meyers living room,” “Nancy Meyers homes,” and “Nancy Meyers-core” had soared in recent months.

Looking to replicate your own favorite interior? Here are six Indianapolis area shops where you can get the looks.

Charles Mayer and Co.

If you’re looking for a one-stop shop and have the money to drop, head straight to Charles Mayer and Co., The boutique is owned by Claudia Ryan, former Vice President of Fashion Merchandising for L.S. Ayres. Ryan uses her keen eye to bring exquisitely designed tableware, linens, home decor, and accessories to The Shoppes at 56th and Illinois Street—but walking through the store, you could easily be shopping for items worthy of Natasha Richardson’s posh Hyde Park townhome in “The Parent Trap.”

Foundry 317 Home

What can we say? This natural linen lamp had us at hello. (Yeah, we know, not from a Nancy Meyers film, but the line holds up.) At Foundry 317 Home, you’ll find the perfect selection of accessories, furniture and decor to channel the industrial and rustic yet chic vibe captured in the 2015 film “The Intern” starring Anne Hathaway and Robert De Niro.

Her Home Design

While not truly under the umbrella of “Nancy Meyers-Core,” those who prefer a more alternative aesthetic might look back to the 2000 film “What Women Want.” Mel Gibson’s character Nick lives in a sleek modern Vegas bachelor pad while his boss, played by Helen Hunt, has a more feminine vibe that still packs a punch. For an expansive showroom and retail space that has something for every style, look no further than Her Home Design.

Kitchens By Design

Of course, when discussing Nancy Meyer film interiors, we’d be remiss not to mention kitchens. Meyers has shared the white kitchen with black countertops in “Somethings Gotta Give” was inspired by her own, while the kitchen from “It’s Complicated” made every home chef watching swoon. Lucky for you, Indy is blessed with Kitchens by Design that can bring your vision to fruition.

Parkside Linen

Sure, Nancy Meyer films are known for their kitchens, but a close second might be the bedding.

The scene from “The Holiday” when Cameron Diaz is bundled up in bed in Kate Winslet’s adorable English cottage? So cozy. The crisp white sheets on…well, every bed in “Somethings Gotta Give?” Pure luxury. From dreamy linens to delicious table settings, Parkside Linen is a must.

RG Decor

Take a peep at this boutique interior design firm and furniture store’s Insta and you’ll immediately see a vignette that could be from literally any one of Meyer’s films. If you love a neutral or an earth tone combined with a natural element like stoneware, greenery, or baskets, this is the spot for you.

Leslie Bailey is the founder and CEO of Indy Maven. Her favorite Nancy Meyers film is “Somethings Gotta Give” and she’s a sucker for “The Holiday” but she really wishes the woman would stop casting so many white people.
