The world is opening up again, and the buzz of Circle City is returning. If that wasn’t enough reason to celebrate, warmer weather and sunny days make cocktails on a patio with your friends sound even better! Here’s a list of some of our favorite hidden gem patios in the city:
The Lemon Bar – Zionsville
After being closed for over a year, The Lemon Bar reopened its doors on May 21, 2021. The Zionsville pastry shop’s white brick walls, string bulb lights, and pet-friendly patio tucked under the trees make The Lemon Bar an ideal place to grab a mid-morning or early-afternoon pick-me-up. Grab some friends and treat yourselves to a pastry and fun cocktail like “The Real Housewives of Zionsville” or the “Boozy Latté.”
Cobblestone – Zionsville
Just around the corner on Zionsville’s beloved brick Main Street lies Cobblestone, an indoor-outdoor restaurant and bar. Whether it’s the brick patio, pink martinis, or live music on the weekends that piques your interest, Cobblestone is the perfect spot for your group to grab a drink.
Revolución – Fountain Square
Tacos and tequila just got a whole lot more fun … because at Revolución, it’s TIKI, tacos, and tequila! Grab your girls and check out the tiki-themed patio and sit and sip on margaritas adorned with cocktail umbrellas to match the ones on the outdoor tables.
The Rooftop Garden – Fountain Square
A short elevator ride to the top of Fountain Square Theater will take you to The Rooftop Garden, a seasonal outdoor cocktail bar. Spend an evening here talking and laughing over drinks with your friends as the incomparable hues of Indiana sunsets dance above you and the Indy skyline smiles at you from a distance.
Bluebeard – Fletcher Place
The name “Bluebeard” will definitely ring a bell if you’re an Indianapolis foodie … this award-winning restaurant located in Fletcher Place’s historic Holy Rosary neighborhood has a patio where time seems to slow down. Choose from a host of house cocktails with your girl group, and while you’re at it, order a dish from the kitchen led by female head chef and five-time James Beard nominee Abbi Merriss.
Iozzo’s Garden of Italy – Meridian Street
Indy in the front, Italy in the back … no, seriously. Step on the back patio of this S. Meridian Street restaurant and allow yourself to be transported to an Italian villa, with cobblestone streets and romantic lighting all lined by red brick on one side and whimsical greenery on the other. Pair your pasta with a signature cocktail or wine by the glass with your friends for a buona notte!
Fresco Italian Café on the Canal – Downtown Indy Canal
This fun stop on the Indy Cultural Trail is a hit for both sips and small plates. The cafe’s lively patio neighbors the canal, so you and your friends can watch paddle boats and gondolas glide along the water as happy hits waft from the speakers, creating the background music that sets the scene. The finishing touch? Fresco’s spiked Italian ice slushes, adult beverages that offer a sense of nostalgia with the youthful, fun flavors.
