In her spare time, she, her husband, Jason, and her kids love to travel, random adventures, and spending time with friends and family (much of it on soccer fields and golf courses). Jenn is a big fan of reading non-work-related books, watching Netflix and Disney+, and taking naps—not necessarily in that order.
My Maven Superpower is…I translate big strategic goals into human-centered experiences that shift culture from the inside out. I make serious work feel meaningful, doable, and a little bit fun.
Best book I’ve read lately is…I say lately because I read this book at least once or twice a year. I teach a class on it, so I am reading it monthly to keep up with my own curriculum. The Happiness Advantage by Shawn Achor.
Self-care habit I swear by…Putting myself in “timeout”. Sometimes it is quiet time on the back patio, sometimes a nap, sometimes a good book with soft music in the background and sometimes it could be taking the VERY LONG WAY home with the sunroof open and music cranked!!! All of these I must be by myself to recharge and regroup. Otherwise, it doesn’t count or work if I am still in a group setting.
My first job was…At my family business – two private daycare centers. It started when I was running mimeograph copies for my Nana at a penny a piece, but grew into the after school kids “teacher”. So whenever school was out (even snow days) I was there for the school age kids!
The best career advice I can offer is…Don’t wait for permission to build what you believe in. Care deeply. Design intentionally. And remember — culture shifts when ordinary people decide to act like everyday heroes.
My favorite local restaurant dish is…Linguine all Vongole pretty much anywhere!
The thing I’ve been binging lately is…BOOKS!! Anything NON-WORK related and it is pairing nicely with my self induced “timeouts”. 😊
A fun fact about me is…I was a foster parent for about 5 years.
The skill I most want to learn is…I want to learn a new language. Just haven’t decided which one.
A Maven you should know is…Dr. Michelle Kitsis & Dr. Amelie Medley
My favorite nonprofit to support is…Hancock Health Foundation & the Women Helping Women initiative
What have you achieved recently that you’d like to celebrate with our community?…Just Jenn, a Women’s Health podcast. This podcast is raw and unapologetic and exists for women who want honest conversations about their health and their lives. The kind of conversations that don’t get rushed, cleaned up, or softened. The ones we sometimes have in quiet moments with someone we trust but oftentimes ones we are afraid to have at all! So Just Jenn is a place to slow down. To talk about what it actually feels like to live in these bodies, navigate these diagnoses, and carry the weight we’re often expected to carry quietly. Here, we cut through the noise, learn from experts, and remind each other that being seen and heard is part of being healthy.
I feel most myself when…I feel most myself when I’m building momentum around something meaningful and bringing people with me. I may come across strong, but my heart is always leading it. I care deeply — about the work, about people, about creating spaces where others feel braver and more connected. That blend of vision, warmth, and a little fire? That’s Just Jenn.
My “must-have” product is…CO Bigelow’s “My Favorite Night Balm”. And no I don’t use it just at night. I probably have six tubes going at any one time – desk, car, nightstand, backpack, bathroom, wallet/clutch.
