Please give a warm welcome to Laura Galietta, a marketing executive and Indy Maven board member who has been in the media and entertainment industry for over 30 years. Laura has worked for amazing brands like Turner Classic Movies, National Geographic Channel, HGTV, Food Network, and Discovery, so her expertise is well sought after and highly regarded. Tell us more about yourself, Laura!

My Maven Superpower is … The ability to connect with people. Seeking out quality people and maintaining friendships, both personally and professionally.

Best book I’ve read lately is … “Going There” by Katie Couric.

My first job was … As a media planner at an ad agency in NY called Y&R.

A fun fact about me is … I am a certified yoga teacher! I loved it so much and it helped me so much, I got certified in 2016. I do not teach publicly, but I do classes for my best friends whenever we take a girls’ getaway.

The skill I most want to learn is … How to build out my own website, Instagram (@wearekindgoodwell and @bewell30a), and social feeds.

Self-care habit I swear by is … YOGA and meditation, facials, and massages.

I feel most confident when … I am getting enough sleep, able to work out with consistency, and of course have gotten a good blowout.

My favorite nonprofit to support is … Save the Children.

The best career advice I can offer is … Stay true to yourself. Love what you do, and the money will follow. Follow your gut.

Favorite purchase lately is … The “Super Serum Skin Tint” from this amazing line of organic skincare called Ilia Beauty.

My favorite local restaurant dish is … Brussels sprouts at Modita!

The thing I’ve been binging lately is …Somebody Somewhere” on HBO Max is a heartwarming must-watch.

Something I have achieved recently that I’d like to celebrate with the Indy Maven community is … I would like to celebrate being chosen as a Maven to Know! I have watched Leslie and the team grow this business from the beginning and I am so grateful to have been a part of their amazing journey.

A Maven you should know is … That is a tough one. I feel blessed to have met so many amazing women here. First of course, Leslie Bailey and the entire Indy Maven team. Second, Alyssa Baker who just started Aura Self and Soul Care in Midtown Carmel … everything this place is about speaks to the core of who I am. And third, my amazing hairstylist Jessyca Myers and skincare specialist Crystal Wade; they both have started their own businesses recently and I am so very proud of them.
