Joy HigbeeMy Maven Superpower is…authentically aligning and empowering people.

Best book I’ve read lately is…Know My Name by Chanel Miller and Magic Pill by Johann Hari — both were incredibly eye-opening in very different ways.

Self-care habit I swear by…intentional movement at least 30 minutes a day.

My first job was…drive thru cashier at Arby’s.

The best career advice I can offer is…just stay humble in all situations. Even if you’re the “authority” in the room, you can get a lot more accomplished with the assumption that other people in the room possess knowledge that you don’t have access to.

A purchase I’ve been loving lately is…my Remarkable.

I feel most confident when…I’m rested, hydrated, and can remember to take a moment before I respond.

My favorite local restaurant dish is…any of the vegan options at Tlaolli, especially the birria trio (and I’m not even vegan – it’s just so good!).

The thing I’ve been binging lately is…grad school course work. 😉

A fun fact about me is…my husband and I are currently renovating (and living in!) a house that was built in 1900.

The skill I most want to learn is…how to use AI to amplify the work I’m already doing.

A Maven you should know is…Christina DeWitt.

My favorite nonprofit to support is…Amplify Hancock and Missions of Hope International.

What have you achieved recently that you’d like to celebrate with our community?…I recently faced my fear of public speaking and co-presented at a national conference in San Diego. Looking forward to the next one!

What’s next for you? What can we expect to see over the next few years?…I’m currently working towards an Executive MBA so I’ll be wrapping that up in January 2027. Other than that, I plan to continue to build on some big projects we have going at Hancock Health and keep moving Hancock County towards our goal of healthiest in Indiana!

I feel most myself when…I’m on a backpacking trip in the wilderness or out on a hike with my kids. Being in nature, especially for multiple days in a row, has a way of forcing you to confront your own physical limitations while also giving your mind the freedom to wander. I do my best thinking in nature.

My “must-have” product is…a great journal.
