Hey there—I’m Leila Spann, founder of enbloom Marketing and professional juggler of bold campaigns, purpose-driven brands, and a toddler who only wants to wear tutus. I started enbloom to help brands tell meaningful stories and execute intentional campaigns that abolish reactive marketing. With 13+ years of experience, I’ve led national campaigns for household names like Ball® and Kerr® mason jars, and helped launch Alamo Drafthouse Cinema in Indianapolis with the highest franchise ticket sales in the company’s history. After being laid off three times working in tech, I decided to take my side hustle of consulting to the next level. I launched enbloom while working full-time and in the thick of postpartum depression. I set a wildly ambitious (and slightly sleep-deprived) goal to launch fully by my daughter’s first birthday, something that drives me everyday. Today, enbloom works with purpose-driven clients across tech, healthcare, education—and the parenting space, which is especially close to my heart. Along the way, I’ve been honored to be named to the IBJ Tech 25 and recognized as Indiana Female-Owned Business of the Year by the Indiana Latino Expo. Beyond the business, I serve on the board of The Christamore House and mentor through the AXIS Latinx Leadership Program and my beloved sorority, Sigma Lambda Upsilon/Señoritas Latinas Sorority Inc. Outside of work and community, I’m a Broadway-obsessed salsa dancer and avocado lover who loves storytelling.
My Maven Superpower is…Empathy.
Best book I’ve read lately is…The Book of Boundaries by Melissa Urban.
Self-care habit I swear by…No meetings before 11am and a Monthly Massage.
My first job was…Working in my local mall in Albany, NY for Nielsen helping people complete movie reviews of trailers.
The best career advice I can offer is…Your story is your superpower. Your struggles, pivots, and comeback moments are the parts that make people root for you. Your story has value, not just in what you’ve achieved, but in how you’ve shown up through it all. Use that. Lead with that. That’s the connection we all need. It’s what makes you, your brand, and your impact special.
A purchase I’ve been loving lately is…a ticket to the Mom 2.0 Summit!
I feel most confident when…I’m dancing Salsa.
My favorite local restaurant dish is…Arepa Bowl from Cumaco Arepa House.
The thing I’ve been binging lately is…Paradise.
A fun fact about me is…My lucky number is 7. I was born on the 7th month, 7th day, at 7:07 a.m. and weighed 7 lbs. and 7 oz.
The skill I most want to learn is…Prioritizing rest and unlearning that my worth isn’t tied to how much or how quickly I produce.
A Maven you should know is…Vanessa Noyola.
My favorite nonprofit to support is…Christamore House.
What have you achieved recently that you’d like to celebrate with our community?…Last year, I was named the Indiana Female-Owned Business of the Year by the Indiana Latino Expo, an award that honors Latina entrepreneurs for their resilience, innovation, leadership, contributions to Indiana’s economy and commitment to fostering inclusivity. As an Afro-Latina and descendant of the Taíno people, this recognition is a celebration of the legacy I carry. It’s a win for the women building from scratch, raising the next generation, and chasing ideas that demand belief, not permission. More than anything, it’s about showing my daughter, and future generations, that women are allowed to boldly take up space and bring their visions to life, especially when systems aren’t built for them to succeed.
What’s next for you? What can we expect to see over the next few years?…I’m stepping into a season of purposeful growth, where business, motherhood, and community aren’t competing priorities, but part of the same story. I’ll be continuing to grow enbloom and working as a Fractional CMO, managing campaigns that center strategy, brand, and storytelling, especially for parenting and wellness brands. You’ll see me supporting more mama entrepreneurs, building strategies that honor real life, and using storytelling to help women-led brands show up with clarity and confidence. I’m also continuing to share my own journey—the messy, beautiful, in-between parts of motherhood and entrepreneurship—to help destigmatize the challenges we often carry quietly.
You’ll still catch me pouring into community through Board work, mentoring Latina leaders, and intentionally raising my daughter to know that she can be bold, soft, brilliant, whole, and live with audacity on her own terms. When I’m not working, you’ll find me biking the Monon Trail, dancing salsa, traveling, or planning for my next house project alongside my husband and daughter, who remind me every day why I do this work.
I feel most myself when…When I’m dancing salsa. It’s one of the few moments where I can truly turn off my brain and let my body take the lead. There’s something about the rhythm, the movement, the connection—it brings me back to myself every time. It’s where I feel grounded, alive, and completely in flow. No overthinking, no to-do list, just me, the music, and a little bit of magic.
My “must-have” product is…Comfrey Tallow from Tallow LLC (at the Broad Ripple Farmers Market).
