Lisa Frank is the founder of LBF Strategies, an executive PR and communications recruiting and career coaching firm based in Indy (with clients nationwide). She started her career in PR and nonprofit work before moving into the hiring and career space, and that absolutely shaped how she sees this work. Lisa cares deeply about culture, chemistry, and how people actually feel at work – beyond what’s on a resume or job description. Lisa is also a mom to a 1st grader and married to a husband who’s right there in the juggle with her. Life is full right now: growing and evolving a business, raising a spirited kiddo, caring for aging parents, volunteering (probably more than she should), and trying to make it to her workouts to keep her sanity intact. Things are often messy – but in the best way.

Lisa FrankMy Maven Superpower is…Listening between the lines. What people say, what they don’t say, and how they say it. In hiring and career decisions, that’s often where the real story lives.

Best book I’ve read lately is…Atmosphere. I’ve been leaning into lighter fiction lately — something I can pick up easily while juggling all the things. The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo (same author) is still one of my all-time favorites.

Self-care habit I swear by…Working out. It’s my reset button (and honestly my anxiety med). Between running a business, raising a kid, and juggling all the things, a good weightlifting or HIIT class clears my head and helps me show up better in the rest of my life.

My first job was…Working at a store called Successories, selling framed motivational quotes for people to hang on office walls. A very on-brand start, apparently.

The best career advice I can offer is…Stay curious and talk to people. Some of the most important opportunities in my career came from conversations I didn’t expect. Ask good questions, trust your instincts, and don’t treat networking like a transaction – relationships matter more than you think.

A purchase I’ve been loving lately is…My new glasses from Alternate View!

I feel most confident when…I have taken even just a few moments in the morning to intentionally style my hair or put on some lip gloss. Taking those moments for myself helps me bring my full self to most situations.

My favorite local restaurant dish is…I love a good fig salad at Juniper on Main… and the Chocolate Peanut Butter Mousse Pie at Cake Bake.

The thing I’ve been binging lately is…Mahjong, Les Mills On Demand workouts, Mel Robbins podcasts, my Libby app, and a lot of protein – (Good Culture cottage cheese & Greek yogurt included).

A fun fact about me is…Yes, my name is actually Lisa Frank. And I did meet “that” Lisa Frank when I was a kid. Ask me the story sometime.

The skill I most want to learn is…How to use AI more creatively — and how to make a really good charcuterie board.

A Maven you should know is…I’m new to the community, but I’m excited to build this list as I get to know more incredible women here.

What’s next for you? What can we expect to see over the next few years?…What’s next for you? What can we expect to see over the next few years? Continuing to grow LBF Strategies — helping companies hire in a more human way and helping people navigate careers. I’m also looking forward to getting more involved in the Indy business community and meeting great people doing interesting things here. And who knows… maybe someday I’ll write a book.

I feel most myself when…Sitting in a coffee shop meeting someone new, getting to know people beyond the surface, and connecting dots between people who should know each other — professionally or personally. Sometimes that’s at an event or party… and sometimes it’s just over coffee in yoga pants.

My “must-have” product is…My Breville Smart Oven Air Fryer Pro. I can’t believe I waited so long to get one.
