Cozymeal Cooking Classes

If cooking is your love language, like it is mine, you never stop learning. I’m ready to up my game with some cooking classes and found a fun variety, including this family-friendly Pizza Palooza class, via Cozymeal. I’d love the gift of a class, solo or with my littles.

“West Side Story” with The Indianapolis Opera–at the Zoo

My husband has recently started listening to more opera around our house, and I have to say I’m loving it. It inspired me to learn more about our own Indianapolis Opera, and this upcoming performance of West Side Story is perfect for someone like me who is just dipping their toe in — under the stars at the Indianapolis Zoo! I love the idea of a gift of a bistro table for two (4-tops are also available) and bonus: since food and beverages are available for purchase, I don’t have to worry about dinner.

Tables starting at $240, www.indyopera.org. Use the code maven5 for $5 off your ticket!

The Aroma Room Session Pack

The Aroma Room owner, Shayla Webb, is really onto something with her one-stop shop in Carmel offering aromatherapy suites, salt suites, and hydromassage. Sure, you could always gift a massage, but why not excite her senses and try something new this year? The Touch the Sky package offers five passes for your choice of 30-minute steam, 30-minute salt and sauna, and 20-minute hydromassage.

$175, The Aroma Room

CO2 Laser Treatment

Now that I’m 40, I think of a few facials as general maintenance versus a luxury, so I get them a few times a year. However, I would love the gift of a laser treatment, like the CO2 laser resurfacing from Ageless Aesthetics. It can address fine lines, wrinkles, changes in skin texture,  and the stubborn scars from the super fun adult acne I’ve experienced the past few years.

$600-$750, Ageless Aesthetics

ALL the Massages

Massage therapist and Maven member Deborah Macke introduced me to Holly of Southside Ashiatsu a few months ago, and I’ve been desperate to try one of her “Stomped,” “Stoned,” “Stretched,” and/or “Wrapped” services ever since. I’d also really like to try Deborah’s Lypomassage. Basically, give me allllll the massages.

Prices vary, southsideashiatsu.com and www.rejuvenatemassageandwellness.com

Sovi Wild Child Sparkling Orange Non-Alcoholic Wine

Anyone with younger kids at home will understand the need to desperately not wake up with a hangover. The Sovi Wild Child sparkling orange wine from Orangily is a new favorite, and I’d love to celebrate the day with a bottle—no fuzzy morning-afters included.

Shower Steamers

I love a relaxing bath, but don’t always have time, and while I have aspirations of hanging eucalyptus in my shower, I don’t have the energy to make that happen. Enter these Thulsia Naturals shower steamers, I can throw on my shower floor and (hopefully) enjoy a few minutes of uninterrupted bliss before I start my day. Bonus points: they’re made by a women-owned business!

La Dolce Vita Puzzle

La Dolce Vita Puzzle

I think puzzles are perfect. You can do them alone, you can do them with others. You can do them all in one sitting, you can do them over time. And, you get something fun to look at in the end. I find this La Dolce Vita 1000-piece puzzle from Rooftop Fruit particularly intoxicating.

$40, Rooftop Fruit

Not a Cookbook

In an attempt not to list one of the fabulous cookbooks in store at Dear Mom Indy—because there are many and also I have many—I’m putting “How to Live with Objects” on my wish list instead. Hoping it will help me find peace between my internal struggle of minimalism and maximalism.
