How to spend the day in Zionsville

From hidden patios to unique boutiques, Zionsville is the perfect tiny town getaway.
Indy Maven’s Guide to Zionsville

Created in partnership with Hope Plumbing, your local plumbing expert specializing in older homes.

Whether you need a shopping getaway with the girls, a cute spot to bring your mom, or a new spot to explore close to home, Zionsville checks all the boxes. With its small-town feel, unique boutiques, extensive selection of restaurants, and tons of cute, hidden patios, there’s no shortage of places to discover.

Zionsville MuralIf you’re like us, caffeine is essential to kicking off the day in a new place. Start off right at Roasted in the Village. This might’ve been the best iced coffee and lemon pound cake we’ve tried in a long time. They have lots of seasonal fun drinks, so try the Animal Cracker latte! It always feels good to support independent coffee shops.

After your caffeine kick, head to Art in Hand Gallery. This gallery features pieces from 24 local artists who take turns manning the shop. They have all styles of art, from blown glass to photography to pottery, and it’s fun to hear stories from the artists themselves.

For all things home decor, check out Five Thirty Home. They’ve got everything: paint, hardware, cute decor, and lots of Zionsville swag. This is the perfect place to go if you want to customize your home with a unique accent wall or funky drawer pulls. They also offer Jolie paint workshops that teach you painting techniques to achieve that Pinterest-inspired furniture transformation you’ve dreamed of.

Duo Boutique
Southern Fancy

One of our favorite parts of the day was strolling down Main Street and stopping in the many shops and boutiques.

Vintage Charm—Vintage Charm has curated collections perfect for all occasions and seasons, including gifts, home decor, and jewelry.

Duo Boutique – This cute boutique has something for everyone and offers great sales and hand-selected pieces.

Southern Fancy – Oh my goodness, talk about adorable clothing! We left this store with full hearts and empty wallets. As girls on the shorter side, it can be hard to find dresses, jumpsuits, and rompers, but we saw tons of pieces that fit us perfectly.

Black Dog Books
Traders Point Dairy Bar
Salty Cowboy Margaritas

As avid readers, we had to make a pitstop at Black Dog Books. This small shop has fun Zionsville-specific books, as well as best sellers. We even got some recommendations for our next book club read.

It’s not a trip to Zionsville without making the 10-minute drive from Main Street to Traders Point Creamery. You can grab a meal at the restaurant with indoor and beautiful outdoor seating or try some of their ice cream as you make your way around the extensive grounds. If you’re up for a bit of a walk, you can even see cute baby cows.

We’re big fans of ending our day trips with a margarita flight and some guac, so of course, our final stop of the day was at Salty Cowboy. This eclectic tequileria is decorated to the nines, has a ton of outdoor seating, and is much larger than it appears outside. It’s clearly a town favorite, so try to get there when it opens, as the place fills quickly.

Having lived in Indy for 6+ years, we never ventured to Zionsville (even though it’s just a short drive away!) and can’t believe we missed out on such a cute town for so long. Main Street’s charm and the boutiques were definite standouts, and we’re happy to report that we’ll be dragging our friends here soon.
