Meet Kimberly Hansen, Chief Operating Officer at Old Town Companies, Carmel resident, and mom of two who believes in the power of consistency, gratitude, and betting on yourself.
Whether she’s leading at work, exploring the outdoors, or enjoying simple moments with her family, Kimberly brings intention and determination to everything she does. And here’s a fun fact: At just 19, she biked more than 4,000 miles across the country to raise money for Habitat for Humanity! From her favorite self-care rituals to the advice that’s shaped her journey, get to know Kimberly in our latest Indy Maven Member Spotlight.
My Maven Superpower is…Consistency – I value this in myself and others.
The best book I’ve read lately is…Hollywood, Ending by John Green. Especially fun since he lives in Indianapolis!
Self-care habit I swear by…Writing in a gratitude journal. It refocuses my energy to what and who matters most to me no matter how chaotic a day was.
My first job was…working for the Indianapolis Rowing Center as a boathouse staff member. I primarily sanded and repainted oars, cleaned rowing machines, and made sure rowers had what they needed for a great day on the water.
The best advice I can offer is…To bet on yourself before you bet on someone else. Believe that you can learn something new, step into a role that seems like “too much,” and succeed.
A fun fact about me is…I decided to bicycle across the country when I was 19 and spent 9 weeks traveling 4,000+ miles to raise money for Habitat for Humanity!
A Maven you should know is…Bhavna or Colleen!
I feel most myself when…I feel most myself when I am home with my family. I love the simple moments like cooking together, sitting on our porch talking, or going on family walks.
