Upgrade your breakfast game with this easy and absolutely delicious chai waffle recipe from Raji Muthukrishnan, the owner of Aahaa Chai. If you don’t have a waffle maker, don’t fret: You can also use this same batter to make amazing pancakes.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 Tbsp. baking powder
- ½ cup chai concentrate (preferably Aahaa chai, of course!)
- ½ cup milk (or buttermilk or milk alternative)
- * if using unsweetened chai concentrate, feel free to add 1 Tbsp. sugar or maple syrup to the chai
Directions:
Mix the all-purpose flour with the baking powder in a bowl. In a separate bowl, prepare your chai latte by mixing the chai concentrate with the milk or milk alternative. Pour the chai latte into the flour bowl and whisk together until the batter is smooth. Your batter is now ready!
Next, turn on the waffler maker. When the waffle maker is up to temperature and ready, add 1 scoop of the prepared batter and cook for the amount of time recommended by your particular waffle maker.
You can enjoy your chai waffle with maple syrup, honey, or whip cream (or all three), and you can also top it with chocolate bits, blueberries, sliced strawberries, sprinkles, shredded coconut, or powdered sugar.
