Kai Johnson is a marketing professional and community philanthropist that also co-founded her fashion jewelry line, The KALM Collective, in 2020 with her college best friend. My Maven Superpower is … Execution—I’m incredibly resourceful and a multi-tasker.
My first job was … working in retail at The Limited at the local mall. I loved it so much! Plus, it was a fun way to see my friends and meet new people.
The skill I most want to learn is … to speak French. There’s really no excuse with apps like Duolingo. But my goal is to be able to speak French the next time I go to Paris, my fave city.
My favorite nonprofit to support is … I sit on the board of the Indianapolis Urban League. They do so much for the community and assist minorities and disadvantaged individuals to achieve social and economic equality.
Self-care habit I swear by is … I love a good dermaplane facial and swear by them monthly! It’s the perfect way to achieve healthy, glowing skin.

The best career advice I can offer is … a CEO of a Fortune 500 company once told me, “If you’re doing the same thing as you were last year, you’re not taking enough risks.” And this always stuck with me. I always find ways to innovate in my full-time marketing role and also with my business.
Favorite purchase lately is … it’s a little self-promotion, but I’m so excited for our new Spring items that just arrived. Specifically, the Deven necklace—it’s the perfect choker necklace as we head into warmer months to decorate your collarbone. This can be layered or worn individually. Also, the new Kay earrings, which are named after my mom. A fun bold statement! And additionally, being a busy mom who’s always on the run, I hate to be caught with a low phone battery. I just purchased a new portable phone charger and it’s been a game-changer.
My favorite local restaurant dish is … the scallops at Noah Grant’s = perfection. Well, really anything at Noah Grant’s. I’ve never had a bad meal there.
The thing I’ve been binging lately is … Ozark and Inventing Anna; I’m a Netflix junkie!
A Maven you should know is … Jenny Banner. She’s a fellow entrepreneur and true Indy evangelist that works for the betterment of this city.
