Like many northern suburbs and cities, Fishers is popping up with new attractions and restaurants so quickly that it’s hard to keep up with! Named one of America’s friendliest towns, Fishers is also amping up its downtown district and surrounding areas – making it a great place to explore with family, your significant other, and friends. Here are our top picks of things to do in Fishers:
1. Root on the Indy Fuel – Indy’s minor league hockey team now plays its home games at the Fishers Event Center, the city’s newly-opened premier event hub. This is a must-do winter activity with the kids or if you’re looking for an exciting date night. The event center is also home to Indy Ignite, a new pro volleyball team that had its debut match in January. And that’s not all…while sports is a big focus, you can also catch all sorts of entertainment – from concerts to comedy shows.
2. Explore your artsy side – Feeling inspired to learn something new? The Fishers Art Center hosts all sorts of classes for kids and adults. We can vouch from personal experience that the classes are fun and great for beginners (get your hands dirty and try wheel throwing!). The space also hosts exhibits, events, and workshops.

3. Get a taste of Italy close to home – Angelo’s Italian Market is famous for its freshly made pasta, made daily by a father and son duo. And now they offer classes! Get hands-on and make fresh pasta from scratch. *Book in advance, the classes fill up fast.
4. Compete in a game of Music Bingo – Get a lil’ silly on a Friday night and head to Pinheads for an exciting game of music bingo. Munch on some yummy bar food from Alley’s Alehouse while trying to beat out other competitors for prizes; it’s perfect for big groups to get together and kiddos can join in! Keep the night of fun and games going by hitting up the arcade or bowling alley, which are all inside of Pinheads too.
*Hot tip: Through CCA, Pinheads also hosts a sand volleyball league starting in the spring.
5. Hit the links at Top Golf – Looking for something active during the winter months? Top Golf is the perfect activity for all ages, all year round. They have delicious food/drink, and they have heaters to keep you warm on gray winter days. Whether you’re an amateur looking for a new hobby or an old pro hoping to join a league, they’ve got a little something for everyone.
6. Have a night out on the town – Plan the perfect date night or evening out with the girls at the Yard at Fisher’s District. Grab a drink at Sun King (can’t beat their outdoor patio spots in the summer!), head to 101 Beer kitchen for some yummy apps and craft cocktails, and try HC Tavern for dinner or brunch with the ladies. This is the perfect way to bop around and try some new locations over an evening of good food and great convos.
Summer Bonus:
Mark your summer calendars, ladies! Spend your Saturday mornings enjoying one of the largest farmer’s markets on the north side of Indy, which is also dog friendly, at the Nickel Plate District. Then at night, watch as the area transforms into an outdoor concert venue centered around the Nickel Plate Amphitheater. And don’t forget to grab your fitness girls to try walking, running, or biking along the Nickel Plate Trail.
