Maven Superpower: Communication. Communication is key in so many situations. Whether I’m interviewing someone or just having a casual conversation—the power of authentic, creative, and effective communication has brought me a long way.

How do you keep yourself balanced during the day?

I create a magical atmosphere of joy, peace, and relaxation. I surround myself with things that bring me joy. And I’m a Christmas fanatic. During the holidays, I put up several trees, lights and all kinds of Christmas decor. And when the holidays are over, I even leave a few items around the house to bring me joy throughout the year. Oh yeah, I play Christmas music year round too!

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

Just a good person. I didn’t have that one main career goal. I knew in my heart I would be successful in whatever career I chose, but it was always important for me to be a good person overall.

At what point in your life did you start to feel like you had it “all figured out”?

I don’t have it all figured out. I leave it all in God’s hands. I follow the path God sets out for me, and he guides my steps.

What is the one place in Indy you take visitors?

We have an awesome restaurant scene in Central Indiana, long time favorites and new spots, and I enjoy checking out as many as I can with family and friends. So when visitors come to town, I either take them to one of my favorites (I don’t have just one, I have many), or sometimes they want to go to a popular restaurant they’ve heard about, even living out of town.  I’m also a tourist in my own town, you could say. I enjoy checking out everything Indiana, stumbling upon those hidden gems, and discovering all of the unique and interesting people, places and things!
