Spring into warmer weather this season with a healthy and delicious smoothie. Regardless of if you’re looking for a post-workout meal replacement or a light and fruity treat, we’ve found 11 local Indianapolis-area smoothie businesses that have drinks worth trying. 

BLACK LEAF VEGAN

 

This family-owned and operated business provides plant-based products.  Black Leaf Vegan smoothies are all-natural sweetness with no added sugar. The Vita Verde (Green) Smoothie is a great drink for someone looking for a mix of vegetables and fruit, with spinach, dragon fruit, pineapple and lemonade. You can get this smoothie at Black Leaf Vegan for $8.45.

PARCHED

 

Are you feeling Parched? This smoothie and juice bar located on the east side of Indianapolis is a great pit stop after a long day in the sun—or to treat yourself. With their #1 goal being sustainability, Parched offers juice, smoothies and açaí bowls. Their best seller, The Calabasas, has dragon fruit, mango and banana blended with lemon and coconut milk and tastes like pure bliss. You can get this smoothie for $9.

GREENLEAF JUICE BAR

 

Greenleaf Juice Bar strives to “help people live their healthiest, happiest lives through real food.” They promise transparency in everything they do. Every ingredient is listed on their menu, as well as nutritional facts online. If you’ve been on a health kick lately, then the Blue Mango Super Smoothie is the one for you. It’s made with spirulina, a supplement that is rich in nutrients, blended with mango, banana and pineapple. You can get this nutritious smoothie $8.95.

MASS AVE NUTRITION

 

Looking for a post-workout snack? Mass Ave Nutrition has got you covered. Their protein-based smoothies come in a variety of flavors to satisfy your palate. Their Strawberry Banana smoothie still has the classic delicious taste while being loaded with 24 grams of protein. So make sure to stop by after your next workout and get this smoothie at Mass Ave Nutrition for $9.50.

HUBBARD & CRAVENS

This local coffee shop-boasting several locations around town–has a few smoothies on its menu that are real gems. For peanut butter fans, The Healthy Elephant is the order for you. With a potent nutty taste, this smoothie is blended with espresso, almond milk, cocoa powder, honey and peanut butter. For caffeine-lovers, add another shot of espresso for $1. You can get this smoothie for $5.

THE HEALTHY FOOD CAFÉ


Erica Bryant is the impressive woman behind this veteran-owned business. The Healthy Food Café serves its “Berry Berry Good” smoothie that includes mixed berries, banana and 20 grams of proteinand you can also choose whey or vegan protein at no additional charge. A 12 ounce version of this delicious drink costs $5.75.

Twenty Two Juice


Founded by Leslie and Ross Hanna, Twenty Two Juice has locations in the Indianapolis City Market and The Garage Food Hall. One of their must-try smoothies is a green version called the “Shasta La Vista,” with kale, spinach, pineapple, mango, banana, coconut water and fresh orange juice. You can grab this tasty and healthy smoothie for $7.50.

PURE-TRITION


Inspired by her love of health, female-founder Aleta Osborn opened Pure-Trition. The company’s most popular smoothie is the “Nutty Berry,” which Aleta describes as “peanut butter and jelly without the bread… but so much better.” Ingredients in this yummy drink include almond milk, banana, acai, blueberries, chia seeds, cinnamon, peanut butter and coconut nectar, and prices currently start at $6 for a small size.

Chef Suzanne Rockwell is the talent behind this small-but-mighty drive-up hut near Geist. If you’re searching for an affordable yet tasty option, look no further than their classic strawberry smoothie. You can get this smoothie in a small size for $3 or a large for $5.

NUTRITION HUB


Nutrition Hub, owned by Rachel Webster, has a variety of protein smoothies and healthy teas to keep you nourished while you’re on the move. Grab one of these smoothies after you break a sweat to replenish your minerals and vitamins; we are partial to the “Blueberry Muffin” variety. Bonus: They all have 24 grams of protein for $8.
