It’s the season for giving, but are you giving for good? If you’re looking for a great gift that’s also working to make the world a better place, meet the Alltrue box.
Here’s how it works:
Every three months, members receive a beautifully designed box that contains 6-8 sustainable, socially-conscious full-size products at sample size pricing. If you’re an annual member, you can even customize which products go inside your box.
But joining Alltrue is more than just receiving a box in the mail; it opens up access to seasonal markets, eco-friendly essentials, educational content, and a community that cares. Members get access to the Essentials Market (an online shop with sustainable swaps and clean home must-haves at a discounted price) and Add-On Markets (two-week seasonal pop-up shops featuring ethical brands for discounted prices).
You know our number one priority is supporting women, and we loved learning about Alltrue’s Residency. Each season, they partner with a female artist as part of their Artist Residency program to design the seasonal box or explore new creative spaces. For 10 days, Alltrue hosts the artist in Los Angeles to invest in her creative practice, collaborate with their creative team and build long-lasting relationships.
We received the Fall 2021 Alltrue season box which was designed by Hola Lou, an artist, designer, and muralist born and raised in Durango, Mexico. Here’s what we found inside (and keep reading for info on how to win an Alltrue box):
Nourish Skin Nutrition Balm
Just in time for winter, this nourishing balm was created to soothe dry, damaged, and dehydrated skin while also protecting healthy skin from the outside elements. It’s packed with natural ingredients like organic mango butter, pomegranate, avocado, carrot, broccoli, and chia seed oil. Use it on dry areas such as elbows, knees, cracked lips, and feet. Plus, they have swapped out beeswax for candelilla wax to make this product fully vegan.
Layering Necklace Set
These delicate, minimalist necklaces can be layered together or worn separately depending on your preference. Made with 14kt. gold-plated steel, this necklace duo is hypoallergenic and free of nickel. Plus, it’s designed with an adjustable length. Made by a women-led artisan team in Vietnam, this project helped employ 96 female jewelers, 10 of which hold senior management positions.
Seaweed Collagen Gold Eye Masks
Hit the reset button with a little pampering. Effective, luxurious, and cruelty-free, these gold eye masks rejuvenate and soothe your under-eye area. Formulated especially for Alltrue, MINTBIOLOGY swapped out the animal molecule for seaweed collagen to make this product vegan.
Pro tip: pop them in the fridge before you use them.
Natural Wool Dryer Balls (Set of 3)
Reduce your waste and ditch the disposable dryer sheets for these wool dryer balls. Did you know that wool dryer balls can also reduce drying time by up to 30%, which in turn reduces energy costs and consumption?
Simply throw the three wool balls into the dryer with your wet laundry and start the cycle. These wool dryer balls are also Certified Cruelty-Free by Leaping Bunny.
Vegan Leather 2-in-1 Everyday Tote
From work to play, this bag is big enough to carry all of your essentials (including a 13-inch laptop) but compact enough to use as an everyday crossbody bag. Not only is the bag made with vegan leather, but they take it to the next level with their waterborne polyurethane, a sustainable alternative that’s cruelty-free, vegan, and made without any solvents, removing harmful and toxic chemicals from the manufacturing process and swapping them out for good old fashioned water.
As part of the Alltrue partnership, Henny+Lev is donating 160 of these totes to nurses and mothers at the Cedars Sinai NICU.
Jute Welcome Mat
Welcome friends and family to your home with this all-natural, artisan-made mat made with 100% natural jute fiber. Accompany has helped sustainably employ 227 artisans at the Craft Boat Artisan Collective, a cooperative with a focus on gender equity and women’s empowerment in Bhansko, Rajasthan.
In addition to these products, the Fall 2021 issue of All Good Things was inside. In each issue of All Good Things, you’ll read about products and projects from all around the world that will inform and inspire you. While reading the fall issue, I enjoyed the article about the practice of deep listening as well as the recipe for a grapefruit mocktail, Three Shades of Pink. “All Good Things is for anyone pursuing the good life: an existence rooted in consideration, compassion, and the potential for collective change.”
