January 2026 Overview

There is no soft fade into the new year. Last year initiated a metamorphosis with several once-in-a-lifetime, unprecedented transits. As always, the hits just keep coming in 2026, but the changes that come with them are necessary, and we welcome them. Expect to be amazed as the personal evolution continues, the global and geopolitical landscape shifts further, and even more shocking truths are exposed.

It’s no wonder things have felt dramatic; they are. Our collective beliefs and ways of life are being restructured. It doesn’t seem like an end to the drama is in the cards this year, or ever, really, but at the very least, we can finally look forward to incredible shifts in our collective dynamic. The call is coming from inside the house, only the house is made of cards, and it’s starting to collapse.

In 2025, we experienced massive shifts with several outer planets – these shifts already occurred last year, but they’re super-rare, and in 2026, we really see them integrated. Outer planets are slow-moving. Their transits are long, so they don’t always directly impact daily life, like our moods or dreams. Instead, these planets (Neptune, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Pluto) shape us on a collective, societal, and generational level. They are known for shaping cultural evolution on a broader scale.

Saturn, which rules structure and responsibility, shifted between Pisces and Aries, where it’ll stay until 2028. Here, the desire to have a personal impact and make bold moves meets patience and temperance. This year is about building a strong foundation and developing the maturity to act on ambitious personal goals. We all want to be recognized for our own unique specialness, and imo, the lesson here is that you don’t have to lose your edge to recognize your role in the universe.

Uranus, the planet of revolution and rebellion, moved into Gemini, where it hasn’t been since WWII and will stay until 2033. While Uranus is a slow mover, Gemini is not – we’re likely to see disruption and quick, radical changes. It makes me think of rapid prototyping in design work, where you basically throw spaghetti at the wall to see if it sticks, then kill the darling, destroying it, and rebuilding it so it works better.

The last time Uranus was in Gemini, between 1941-1948, we invented things like radar, computers, and super-fast aircraft, massively transforming how we communicate and travel. Expect a collective demand for authenticity and independence. Expect to see the advancements and shifts of past cycles of Uranus in Gemini reflected now, minus any backtracking. This transit can be overwhelming and unpredictable, bringing unexpected shifts to your daily life, but I suspect it will be more broadly about breakthroughs, personally and collectively. We are cutting ties with old, limiting beliefs and crusty systems that don’t work for us anymore in 2026. Just because it’s the way we’ve done it before doesn’t mean it’s the way it needs to be done now.

For the majority of last year, Neptune, which spends about 14 years in each sign, hovered at the threshold between Pisces and Aries. This kept us suspended between two extremes: 29º Pisces – the crucial point where we feel an urgent need to resolve unfinished business – and 0º Aries, which ushers in true new beginnings and resets, identity shifts. In other words, last year was full of endings that demanded resolution, and beginnings that begged you to have the audacity.

So last year, we had these massive transformations surrounding what we do and why we do it, and all these shifts have initiated the dissolution of an era. This isn’t just a shock to the system; it’s a system ceasing to exist at all. Now, we dismantle.

For the past year, we’ve teetered between massive endings and major new beginnings. The era has already ended, but those narratives didn’t automatically dissolve. We’re still picking apart the tired systems, actively trying to release our grip on old illusions/delusions, and maybe even grieving what’s passed. This year requires us to integrate, take action, and work to embody these shifts.

It feels like a new identity is trying to force its way through without having clearly defined itself. You’re ready, though. You don’t fit inside the box anymore, whether it was created for you or you assembled it yourself. You are bigger and more powerful than before– you’ve changed, and the world is changing, too. It may not be changing as fast as you are, though, in which case, you’ve gotta change it for yourself and push yourself.  This isn’t personal; it’s not just you. We’re all going through this shift in our own ways, but together nonetheless.

2026: it’s giving liberty and agency, individual impact, and authority. We’re making moves this year, and taking ideas and ambitions from daydreams to plans and reality. The threshold has already been crossed, and a bunch of new cycles started last year. We suffered through 2025 so that now, in 2026, we have it in us to step into the new paradigm. This is the only time that we’ll have this kind of opportunity for a fresh start. This will never happen again.

Let’s step back and forget about the collective for a second, though. This January, face yourself first. Set new intentions with courage, intention, and honesty. Face yourself first. Capricorn’s steady, grounded energy is determined to help us clarify goals and solidify the structures we want to commit to. Don’t ask for permission. We don’t care what we’re supposed to commit to. We just care about what we want. Set your intentions for the new year accordingly.

BIRTHDAY ROYALTY <3 Capricorn ♑︎ (Dec 22 – Jan 19):

You’re thinking long-term. Now is a good time to consider what you’re choosing where to put your energy. Early this month, the Full Moon in Cancer pushes you to consider what is really nurturing you and whether your actions are aligned to support you. What are you ready to let go of as we step into this new year? The New Moon is setting you up to make career moves that support the structure you’re invested in. You’re attracting the necessary connections to support your vision. You might find the deepest connections come from unexpected places.

Tarotscope | The Emperor — You are stepping into authority — not over others, but over your own direction and purpose.

NOW FOR THE REST OF YOU...

AQUARIUS ♒︎ (Jan 20 – Feb 18)

Practice radical vulnerability this month. You’re pushing the boundaries of what was previously seen as possible. Meanwhile, on a personal level, you may have been neglecting the little practices and creature comforts that help you feel safe. You’ll need to redirect some energy back to that. You’re a beacon in this season, and as we move towards your season, your voice is magnetic. Speak up for yourself and stand up for what you want.

Tarotscope | Three of Swords — Avoidance is just pressing on the bruise. Be honest and speak the truth.

PISCES ♓︎ (Feb 19 – Mar 20)

The way you think and talk about yourself is under review, my dude. I’m here to tell you that if you don’t consider yourself to be worthy, people are going to treat you as if you aren’t. This does not reflect the reality. It doesn’t mean that you are not worthy. People are just delivering the news that you expect in the way you’re expecting to receive it. You need to set boundaries, likely with yourself especially, about how you are talked to/about.

Tarotscope | Justice — Accepting shitty behavior is making you into a martyr. Nobody is coming to save you. You’re the only helpmate available at this time.

ARIES ♈︎ (Mar 21 – Apr 19)

This month, hesitation and inhibitions have no place for you. You’re being pushed into confidently facing the path you’re meant to take to get where you’re trying to go. You don’t need permission to take the next steps, but be sure not to alienate the people you want to keep. If they’ve helped you get here and support where you’re going, why shouldn’t they come with you? It doesn’t make you weak to fit others into your plans.

Tarotscope | Queen of Swords — Yes, you need to be honest and sharp. You do not, however, need to be brutally honest or razor sharp.

TAURUS ♉︎ (Apr 20 – May 20)

Are you maintaining sustainable habits to take care of yourself? This month, focus on refining your routines and daily practices to make sure you’re not going to be burnt out in a month. You can have a tendency to over-commit. Sure, right now, you’re enthusiastic about sticking with your plan, and of course, you have excellent intentions, but this can all backfire. It won’t take long before stretching yourself too thin begins to have the reverse effect.

Tarotscope | The Hermit — You can only hear your inner wisdom when you allow yourself the space to listen for it.

GEMINI ♊︎ (May 21 – Jun 20)

Keep your friends close this month, and you won’t have any enemies. This month brings clarity around who you want in your inner circle and whether any boots are needed. You might find that you’ve been taken advantage of in a very unexpected way, but it’s fine. You don’t have to stay where your brilliance is not appreciated. There are plenty of spaces that align with your unique and dynamic energy. If it’s draining, cut it off.

Tarotscope | The Sun –– There’s a lot to look forward to, and suddenly, this is crystal clear to you.

CANCER ♋︎ (Jun 21 – Jul 22)

Your emotional well-being is being spotlighted early this month. Allow yourself to refocus and redirect your energy, especially when you feel the need to withdraw from responsibility. Don’t just drop off the face of the earth and ghost on your commitments. Consider why, when you’re feeling drained. Don’t avoid confronting and communicating your needs. They’ll just return bigger and more persistent next time.

Tarotscope | The Empress — You know when to pull back. Do it responsibly.

LEO ♌︎ (Jul 23 – Aug 22)

January asks you to examine your deepest connections, paying particularly close attention to reciprocity. When it comes to goals and commitments you share, are the responsibilities split more or less evenly? Do your closest relationships support you back? And, conversely, are you only supporting because of what you’ll receive in return? Communicating what you really want (and don’t want) is especially important for renewing and empowering your relationships.

Tarotscope | Two of Cups — Meet in the middle with mutual respect and trust.

VIRGO ♍︎ (Aug 23 – Sep 22)

This month focuses on your career and how you present yourself to the world. Are you sharing your work, communicating your work, and commanding respect? Refine, or define, routines and rituals surrounding your presence. How do you want to be seen by the world? What are your long-term goals? You shouldn’t feel overwhelmed by this; laying it all out gives you clarity and invites more ease.

Tarotscope | Eight of Pentacles — Practice makes perfect.

LIBRA ♎︎ (Sep 23 – Oct 22)

Acting on instincts becomes more important this month. When you feel something strongly enough that it drives you to act, your intuition is guiding you. It’s more than likely leading you into or out of a situation for a reason. If something feels right, express that! If it feels wrong, slowly back away. Trust yourself. Especially if this month brings about invitations or agreements. Do what’s right for you, rather than what you feel obligated to do.

Tarotscope | High Priestess — Listen to your intuition. It doesn’t need to make sense. Feelings rarely do.

SCORPIO ♏︎  (Oct 23 – Nov 21)

You’re curious and inspired this month. You have more ideas than usual, and you see clearly how you should act on them. Use this energy to propel yourself in your career or personal projects. Take the idea and run with it. At the same time, be sure to maintain honest communication. Don’t just take the idea, run with it, and disappear. You may need buy-in or support.

Tarotscope | Knight of Swords — Speak with confidence and intention.

SAGITTARIUS ♐︎  (Nov 22 – Dec 21)

Suddenly, everything seems to be clicking into place and making more sense. You’re bouncing back. January shows you how to take inspired action. Your passion projects could gain traction, and financial breakthroughs are possible. You are excited for new beginnings and feeling inspired by entering a new year. Use this momentum to stay curious and creative solutions will continue to find you.

Tarotscope | Page of Wands — Allow yourself to be taken by a new sense of wonder.
