As the Sales & Marketing Director for Old Town Design Group, Stacey Willis passionate about two things: supporting an incredible team and watching her community thrive.
When she’s not helping shape the growth of local neighborhoods, you can find her cheering on her three kids, supporting her husband, Westfield Mayor Scott Willis, and giving back to the hometown she loves. She’s a true champion for Westfield—always looking for ways to foster genuine connections and make her community an even better place to call home.
My Maven Superpower is…building relationships.
Best book I’ve read lately is…The Let Them Theory by Mel Robbins.
Self-care habit I swear by…I have never been consistent about working out. However, walking on the treadmill while watching a favorite show has become a routine for me. It takes my mind off the chaos and makes me feel good that I got a work out in. I only allow myself to watch the show when I am on the treadmill. It makes me want to workout so I can see the show.
My first job was…at age 13, Salad bar girl at Heichelbach’s restaurant in Jasper, IN known for its turtle soup.
The best advice I can offer is…you don’t have to have everything figured out before taking the next step. Some of the best opportunities in my life came when I was willing to say yes, work hard, and learn as I went. Confidence often comes after action, not before it. If you wait until you’re confident to do something, it may never happen. Confidence is often the result of taking the leap, not the prerequisite for it.
A purchase I’ve been loving lately is…a Minky Couture blanket, that was actually a gift. Softest blanket ever! Loved it so much I give them to clients as closing gifts.
I feel most confident when…I’m helping others succeed. Whether it’s leading my team, mentoring someone, or helping a client make an important decision, confidence comes from knowing I’ve helped someone move forward, achieve a goal, or feel supported along the way.
My favorite local restaurant dish is…Gooey Butter Cake from H Steakhouse. If you don’t consider that a dish, their steak is wood-fired and one of the best I have ever had.
The thing I’ve been binging lately is…Jenni’s ice cream. My favorite flavor Brown Butter Almond Brittle, if you will, but haven’t met a flavor I didn’t like. Had it in Chicago a couple years ago and now it is in the grocery store.
A fun fact about me is…I have no power! As the wife of the Mayor of Westfield, people regularly stop me to ask why there’s no stoplight at a certain intersection, whether I can get a pothole fixed, or if I can move the Christmas tree lighting to a more convenient date. I always joke that I have absolutely no power in these situations!
The skill I most want to learn is…how to be more present. I’m always thinking about the next meeting, project, or event, and I’d like to get better at slowing down and fully enjoying the moment I’m in.
My favorite nonprofit to support is…Advancing Westfield Foundation. They help sustain local organizations that support Westfield. Scott and I put on a Gala each year that funds, the foundation and provides community grants for education, arts, and health services.
What have you achieved recently that you’d like to celebrate with our community? Wild Air Development – Being a part of bringing a new community to life is one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had. From the early conversations with a landowner about their vision for the property to eventually hosting a Home-A-Rama event where more than 16,000 people tour the homes and community, it’s an experience most people never get to see firsthand. I certainly didn’t do it alone—it takes an incredible team of talented people to make it happen—but being involved in the planning, problem-solving, and countless details along the way, then watching it all come to life, is incredibly rewarding.
What’s next for you? What can we expect to see over the next few years?…I will be continuing to build things that last—whether that’s communities, teams, relationships, or opportunities for others. I find the most fulfillment in helping turn ideas into reality and watching people grow along the way.
I feel most myself when… is when I am problem solving and working with my sales team, at work. At home with my family it is the little moments that I get celebrating my families, wins and accomplishments, and helping them through their challenges.
My “must-have” product is…Dawn dish washing liquid gets anything out of laundry and my iPad, from entertainment, calendars, planning and note taking It feels like a security blanket.
