Excavation Manager at Hope Plumbing, Kate Sullivan is mother to Scotty (4) and Ciaran (1), dog mom to 2 Australian Shepherds, Seamus and Raighne, and is remodeling her forever home with her husband. They’re almost done (thank goodness). Kate loves all things Disney and Harry Potter (go Hufflepuffs), reading, red wine and travel. She even got engaged and married in Ireland. Tell us more, Kate!
My Maven Superpower is … My infectious laugh
Best book I’ve read lately is … Ugly Love – Colleen Hoover
Self-care habit I swear by … Morning 10 meditation
My first job was … Sales associate at Finishline
The best career advice I can offer is … Don’t let your degree or experience define you. If there’s something you want to do, figure out what you need to change or learn in order to achieve it. Believe in yourself and stay focused. Surround yourself with others that have experience in that area or similar goals and lean on them for advice.
A purchase I’ve been loving lately is … My new oven! (We gutted the first floor of our house, and I’ve been cooking with a instant pot and crockpot for the last 5 months.)
My favorite local restaurant dish is … Bluebeard’s Casarecce or Sahm’s Place’s Buffalo Chicken Sandwich
The thing I’ve been binging lately is … Vanderpump Rules (lol)
A fun fact about me is … My real first name is Mary. For several generations, every first born girl has been named Mary, and we all go by our middle name.
The skill I most want to learn is … Another language
A Maven you should know is … Megan Habig
My favorite nonprofit to support is … The Little Timmy Foundation
Next up for me … I want to travel with my family, focus on personal growth and find out what really makes me shine. I would also love to get more involved in promoting Indianapolis and making our city even better.
