July 2025 Overview
What would you do if you were seventeen again? It’s summer, you’re still a kid, but you have enough autonomy and sense of self to be bold and brave. If you were seventeen right now, would you jump off the cliff? Would you kiss that stranger, or drive across the country, or spend your money on an experience that feels stupid but you’ll remember for the rest of your life?
What if, this summer, you did at least one of the things that you regret not doing when you were younger, dumber, and less inhibited?
I’m noticing that Summertime Sadness is kind of, like, really legit a thing. Like, while you’re living in the now and enjoying life as it comes, you can also feel yourself barely slipping through the moments like a sieve. Here today, gone tomorrow.
Cancer feels like one of the most misperceived signs in the zodiac, imo. We expect it to feel luscious and pleasant, like a bubble bath, like we’re being softly lulled into sweet dreams. Personally, I think it feels more like “time is a flat circle,” like an ancestral itch, an all-consuming sense of nostalgia. There is a deep, feverish longing to return to a place that no longer exists and/or an ardent appetite for a future that doesn’t yet exist.
Being the ruler of the fourth house, the “House of Home,” Cancer is a cosmic pot-stirrer. The focus is on our roots and foundations, the mother, psychological safety. Think: unbreakable bonds with all the versions of yourself and all the people who came before you and enabled your existence. Don’t be surprised if at some point this month, you feel fascinated by the past, tethered to a bygone era, or have a desire to connect with ancestors.
I recently read a novel (The Vaster Wilds by Lauren Groff) that posed this theory: “perhaps the eternal chain of being was not a chain at all, but a ring, one life not ending where the other begins but all souls overlapping.”
History repeats itself over and over, and I think Cancer can be characterized by deep longing. The vibe is, like, unattainable, unquenchable thirst, unrequited love, or unrecognized dreams. This is not at all a bad thing. Desire is essential. If everything you wished for came easily and instantly, you’d be bored out of your mind. What kind of life would that be? There would be no fascination, no excitement, or surprise. And haven’t you ever yearned? Don’t you even yearn?
This month feels like water reaching a low boil. Something is happening. It feels like a reckoning, and there’s that aching ancestral itch again. This is an era that’s changing you. You’re likely to experience major shifts that nobody else will notice–that doesn’t mean they’re unremarkable. It feels like being pulled in by a rip current. Just know that you’re not drowning, you’re going under to remember what’s down there in the depths.
Remember: this is summer. It’s Cancer, and you’re seventeen again. Everything smells like salt, skin, and second chances. This is about being devoted to yourself. Time is a flat circle, but it’s also a shadow that’s hard to step out from. It is never, ever too late to do something you want to do, and you don’t need permission to go for it. Nobody can tell you how to do it or do it for you, either. Maybe this isn’t just a reckoning, but a reclamation.
This month is a checkpoint. As something you’ve been working toward starts coming into focus, consider whether what you’re building actually belongs to you. Did you dream of this, or was it inherited? Emotions are heightened and raw, but they can’t be avoided, like sunburned skin; it aches until it doesn’t. Shift and make adjustments as necessary. Keep it moving.

BIRTHDAY ROYALTY <3 Cancer (June 21 – July 22):
This is your season, but it doesn’t come with balloons, and who among us hasn’t cried on their birthday? It’s still beautiful, though. It comes with mirrors. Your life is like a hologram right now, and from this perspective, you see yourself in a new light. You have more clarity than you have in months, which, while slightly jarring, is incredibly liberating. You know why you are the way that you are, and you know how to use your greatest strengths to your advantage. And you’ll get what you want for your birthday this year because you’re not afraid to ask for what you want. Everyone else is chomping at the bit and will jump at the opportunity to please you.
Tarotscope: Death — Let your old tired stories become memories. You don’t have to forget to move on, but you have to release some of the junk to make room for the things you actually want.
Famous Taurus: Princess Diana, July 1
Local Taurus: Sara Baldwin of Lux & Ivy Vintage, June 25
NOW FOR THE REST OF YOU...
Leo (July 23 – August 22)
Reality feels flip-flopped, and at times, it feels like you have no clue what’s happening this month. You’re not lost. You’re just in the in-between. It’s magic, a secret superpower. This power feels like an undercurrent, though, so it’s not so easy to detect or decipher. Things will make sense in time. Don’t rush it. The stakes are low.
Tarotscope: Four of Swords — A hiccup in the timeline doesn’t erase progress. This month brings a necessary reset through rest.
Virgo (August 23 – September 22)
Sometimes it feels like you think quicker than the rest of the world, and it’s true that the situations you’re in can’t keep up with you. You’re excited and antsy, so you ping-pong between storylines, which will inevitably cause confusion in your relationships. You can’t just switch things up and expect the world to fall in line. Instead, focus your excitement on plans. Air energy has you reeling a little, but you need to build on solid ground.
Tarotscope: The Emperor — For you, structure is freedom.
Libra (September 23 – October 22)
You’re in your transition era, so it’s important to focus on being present this month. As you realign and reconsider where you’re heading and how you’ll get there, it’s causing subtle shifts to your sense of self. Maybe something is changing in how you present yourself. It turns out that all the world is not a stage, and nobody has you under a microscope. You don’t have to meet anybody else’s expectations.
Tarotscope: Judgement — The call is coming from inside the house. This is not a drill. This is not a surprise.
Scorpio (October 23 – November 21)
Celebrate the ways you have evolved! You’ve outgrown some negative and toxic situations, and now you’re challenging your old belief systems, too. Maybe you’re just realizing that it doesn’t matter. This is liberating, but it also causes some confusion. Do you even know who you are if you aren’t clinging to that story? Growth isn’t always easy, but you’re getting along just fine.
Tarotscope: Hierophant — Some rules were meant to be broken, and others weren’t meant for you. You are not a follower
Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21)
There is nothing you could have done to prevent how you are being tested right now. You may have recently drawn a line in the sand, and now, it’s being pushed. Be assertive about what you need (and what you don’t need), and pay extra close attention to who isn’t respecting boundaries. It’s time to look over the agreements you made in the past and make adjustments.
Tarotscope: Six of Pentacles — It’s not an exchange when they’re taking more than they give. It’s not an exchange when it’s exhausting.
Capricorn (December 22 – January 19)
You don’t have to stay committed to the bit just because you committed to it–especially if you committed so long ago that the person you were then no longer exists. Are you trying so hard to curate yourself that you can’t afford to be honest when you need help or change your mind?
Tarotscope: Eight of Swords: Nobody is making you do anything. That’s you who’s making you do the things.
Aquarius (January 20 – February 18)
You’ve been tailoring your routine to your current whims and working out the kinks in your life’s systems. You may have made adjustments to how you work or how you live. You feel like a snake slithering from its dead skin. Keep going this month–you have no idea how close you are to feeling free.
Tarotscope: The Magician – Look! You’re doing it. You’re doing the things you need to do to create the life you want to live.
Pisces (February 19 – March 20)
Your mind is buzzing. Creative sparks and big ideas come in waves, one washing the next away before you’ve had a chance to process it. Carry a notebook everywhere, and notice what inspires you. Don’t let it slip away into the sea. You have complicated feelings that could show up in strange ways this month, but this is a portal. It’s up to you to respond to it.
Tarotscope: The Star — You’re not lost. You’re just in the middle, dreaming.
Aries (March 21 — April 19)
You could be forced to take a step back, but rather than feeling like a setback, a pause is so necessary that this is a relief. Give yourself a second to adjust, and you might realize you are actually thrilled by the potential of a reset because once you have space for reflection, it’s easier to see the cracks in the foundation. Try fixing the cracks before demolishing the house.
Tarotscope: Two of Swords — You’re not stuck. What have you habitually been accepting?
Taurus (April 20 – May 20)
You’re on a precipice. I simply cannot say more. A secret third thing. But for real, it feels like good fortune of some kind is on its way, and it’s because you’ve been rearranging your internal world to match your external needs. In other words, I feel like you’re *manifesting* and the results are beginning to show. Your future feels so sparklingly bright.
Tarotscope: The Moon — What you feel is real, but it may not be the whole picture. There is probably more behind door number three, but idk, we’ll have to wait and see.
Gemini (May 21 – June 20)
Money and self-worth are the key focus for you this month, and how you treat resources will set the tone. Are you hoarding or hemorrhaging what you earn, or are you setting up your future self? You may be in a stressful situation or find this moment to be uncomfortable–that’s why you need to consider this now. You’re here because, in the past, you were distracted by the big shiny thing. Organize what you have to welcome what you’re about to get.
Tarotscope: Queen of Pentacles — You’re not scrambling, you’re stabilizing, queen.
