April 2026 Overview
Can you feel it coming? As the calendar flips to April, a major energetic reset is triggered. This month holds some of the most significant transits of the year. March was about processing, taking inventory, and possibly, moving on. Now: action. There is a real and palpable energy pushing for movement and inspiring action, and if you’ve been waiting for a sign to confirm your next steps, here it is.
In general, April is kind of like the astrological equivalent of a breath of fresh air. The zodiac resets, and while it feels like we’ve been waiting, standing on the threshold for a long time, April is the month we finally step through.
This is especially true this month, as several key transits are pushing for life-changing movement. For some, this season of transformation could feel uncomfortable, while others might feel compelled to lean in and press fast forward. Either way, the situation is that you can’t hide from change, and you can’t rush through it, either. Spoiler alert: neither of those strategies work.
We begin the month with the sun in Aries, the season of instinct and self-assurance. And for the first time in a long time, no planets are retrograding. There is nothing in the way, nothing trying to slow you down. It’s just happening. Any resistance you’re running into now is internal… which is actually great news, because this is totally in your jurisdiction. Decisions are yours to make.
But transformation is exhilarating and exhausting in equal measure. There is some tension this month between the urge to just move and the sobering reminder that recklessness does not equal courage. The season of the ram charges forward without always knowing where it’s going or what it’s trampling on. Inactivity doesn’t stop the progress, but force doesn’t necessarily change the speed.
You don’t have to force it, though. This month, Jupiter, Venus, and Mercury are working together to influence positive changes and attract new opportunities. When Mars joins Saturn in Aries towards the middle of the month, you may feel stricken with the realization that you have always been the keyholder. You’re the one driving your life. The tank is full. Where are you going?
Something historic also happens this month, with Uranus, the great disruptor, the planet of invention and surprise, as it moves into Gemini on the 25th. For the next seven years, it will stay there, cracking something wide open. This is not your everyday astrological activity. This is the main event right now, one of the most anticipated changes of the year. Everything we’ve been privately thinking, wondering, and questioning about how we communicate and share information begins to shift in a very public way.
If you look back at my column from January, I wrote about this transit in a lot of detail. This is the first time Uranus has been in Gemini since WWII, when in the face of devastating destruction and dehumanization, the world experienced incredible technological advancement. This tracks. The paradigm is shifting, and the irl evidence of the change is clear. Nobody can hide from the truth.
IMPORTANT DATES THIS MONTH
April 1 – Full Moon in LIbra
The Full Moon in Libra shines a bright light on our relationships, exposing any imbalances, making them impossible to ignore. This Full Moon is square Jupiter, which means feelings are running hot and tensions may run high. Let them. With caution.
April 9 – Mars enters Aries
Mars returns to its home, where is comfortable and confident. The energy shifts from murky to clear and electric. This is take-action energy in its purest form. Use it wisely. What do you want?
April 14 – Mercury enters Aries
The mind is catching up with the body. You’ve been feeling your way through; now you can finally say what you’ve been thinking. Conversations that you’ve been circling around become easier to have, and the words feel cleaner, sharper, more like you.
April 17 – New Moon in Aries
All major planets are direct, and this New Moon is an invitation to begin something that is entirely yours. This is not collaboration—this is personal. Make the declaration. Begin. Commit to yourself in a way you maybe haven’t before. The only thing: Mars is applying to a conjunction with Saturn, so the energy carries a thread of self-doubt. Notice it, but keep going anyway.
April 19 – Sun enters Taurus
We slow down slightly as we shift into Taurus season, and honestly, this shift is welcome. After all the Aries urgency, Taurus invites us to settle into what we’ve started and let it take root.
April 24 – Venus enters Gemini
A curious, light energy takes hold. This is a great time for flirting and making new friends, for interesting conversations, for meeting up with people who make you think. Not every connection has to be heavy right now. Most of them shouldn’t be.
April 25 – Uranus enters Gemini
The last time Uranus was in Gemini was in the 1940s into the 1950s, during a period of radical reinventions in communication, media, and technology. Now it’s back, and after seven years of Uranus in Taurus shaking up our financial systems, our values, our material world, the disruption moves into the realm of the mind. Information. Language. Connection. How we talk to each other, how we learn, and what we believe. Things are about to change. This is an era for original thinkers.
Birthday Royalty <3 Aries (March 21 - April 19)
You are not starting over from nothing. This is just a little reset. There’s a difference. Everything you’ve been through—all the second-guessing, the questioning, the slow excavation of who you are becoming— it’s all been preparation for this moment. You’re working toward a genuine, raw energetic reset. The New Moon on the 17th is for you. Make a wish. Speak the intention aloud. Light the match. You don’t have to wait to begin until you’re unafraid. In fact, fear is what’s proving to you that this matters. You have never been one to play it safe; you’ve just sometimes been the type to doubt your direction. Don’t doubt it this time.
Tarotscope | Ace of Wands
Something real and new and alive appears.
NOW FOR THE REST OF YOU...
Taurus (April 20 – May 20)
A new chapter is just waiting to begin, and you can feel it. You tend to desire certainty before making a move, but this month, certainty might not arrive before the opportunity does. You’re being invited to act on your instinct and values, not just what makes sense. The Sun enters your sign on the 19th, and with it comes a grounding energy that steadies you. Something you’ve been quietly building is about to become visible.
Tarotscope | 7 of Cups
You’ve already created the opportunity. Do you wish to proceed?
Gemini (May 21 – June 20)
Something about you is different. You’re changing, especially when it comes to, how you communicate with yourself. Venus moves into your sign on the 24th, and then Uranus joins it on the 25th. You will remember this era. It doesn’t fully emerge overnight, but you’ll feel the first of its waves this month. An unwinding, a creative release, a new recognition that your ideas don’t have to make sense before you share them. The Full Moon at the start of the month may surface something in a close relationship that requires honest conversation. You’re ready to have it.
Tarotscope | The Fool
Taking a leap is the point. But you know that already. You’ve been here before, but it looked different before.
Cancer (June 21 – July 22)
You’ve been holding a lot of heavy stuff for a lot of other people, but this month, it’s time to turn your care inward. With Jupiter still in your sign and all planets direct, there is genuine momentum available to you right now… but only if you aren’t pouring all your energy into other people’s cups. The New Moon is a moment to ask yourself: what do I want to begin? You might be surprised by the answer.
Tarotscope | Six of Cups
Let the past inspire you rather than trap you in its grip.
Leo (July 23 – August 22)
This month, you will finally begin to see the evidence that what you’ve been working on is starting to work out. The energy is shifting toward visibility and recognition—not in a performative way, but in the organic way that effort must be noticed. This month’s Full Moon in Libra on the 1st illuminates your life creatively and romantically, possibly bringing something to a beautiful peak or a necessary conclusion. Either way, it’s clarifying and it doesn’t feel sad. Trust your instincts about what you’re ready to move past.
Tarotscope | Page of Pentacles
A real and tangible opportunity presents itself. Accept what feels rightfully yours.
Virgo (August 23 – September 22)
Even more than usual, the future is consuming you. You can’t stop thinking about what comes next, and it feels different than it used to—less anxious and controlling, and more truly curious and open. This is a significant shift. The Aries New Moon on the 17th activates your curiosity even further, as you consider what you want to be building with unusual clarity. You know you have what it takes to make it happen—now you just have to stop asking questions and begin.
Tarotscope | Eight of Pentacles
Everything gets better with practice, even trusting yourself.
Libra (September 23 – October 22)
This month’s Full Moon on the 1st is in your sign, and it’s a moment of truth for you. Something reaches a culmination—a relationship, a negotiation, a decision you’ve been waffling over for longer than you should have. April brings resounding clarity and an understanding that you’ve known the answer all along. The rest of the month is about integrating what the Full Moon has revealed, so you can move forward with conviction and without checking back over your shoulder. You’re not missing anything, and you’re not making mistakes.
Tarotscope | 8 of Swords
You have trapped yourself in a cycle of indecision, but that ends this month.
Scorpio (October 23 – November 21)
You tend to process emotions deeply and privately, but this month’s direct, electric fire energy is pushing what’s held internally toward expression. All the pressure you’ve been putting on yourself needs somewhere to go. This doesn’t have to mean you’re about to emotionally combust. It can be a lot simpler: maybe a clarifying conversation, a piece of creative work, a firm decision made. The Libra Full Moon on the 1st touches your sense of identity in relationships, and asks you to express yourself authentically.
Tarotscope | Knight of Swords
Beware of coming on too strong. You can be authentic and true without aggression.
Sagittarius (November 22 – December 21)
You want more, and April is the first month in a while where more feels genuinely available to you. Your desires are more than just aspirations. The Aries New Moon on the 17th falls in the part of your chart associated with creativity, play, and the parts of yourself you express most freely. With all planets direct, there is nothing standing in your way. The only thing to watch: don’t let restlessness become an excuse to blow things up that are actually working.
Tarotscope | Queen of Wands
You have always been meant to get what you want.
Capricorn (December 22 – January 19)
This month might feel a little disorienting. The training wheels are off. You know exactly what you’re doing, it’s just that you aren’t really sure how to transition from practice to reality. Don’t worry—the transition couldn’t be seamless, no matter how hard you tried. When Taurus season begins on the 19th, things slow down and feel more deliberate. Focus on what’s right in front of you. What happens behind the scenes doesn’t really concern you right now.
Tarotscope | The Hierophant
You are being asked to trust yourself implicitly. You can’t know the inner workings of things, but you know that this is part of it.
Aquarius (January 20 – February 18)
You’ve been ahead of the curve for so long that it’s almost funny when the world finally catches up. Uranus entering Gemini on the 25th is a moment that could feel personally significant. It’s like the collective is finally speaking your language, just before you grow out of it and create a new one. The ideas you’ve been sitting on or quietly developing are about to find a receptive audience. But first: the Full Moon in Libra at the start of the month is asking you to take stock of your one-on-one relationships. Where have you been showing up, and where have you been half-assed?
Tarotscope | The World
An important shift. A feeling of completion and acceptance.
Pisces (February 19 – March 20)
You spent your season clearing and cleansing, which was necessary and good and probably also very, very tiring, physically and emotionally. April is offering you a moment to feel something you rarely do: momentum. Not urgency, though. Let this Aries season carry your plans forward a little. You don’t have to have it all figured out—you don’t even have to have anything figured out, actually. The New Moon on the 17th asks you to set one important intention—something that belongs to you alone, not your role, not your relationships, not your obligations. Just you.
