A League of Our Own: Inside Indy Maven’s March Watch Party with The Sports Bra Indianapolis

As Indianapolis sprints toward becoming the capital for women’s athletics, we teamed up with Eve Keller to discuss the vision for The Sports Bra Indy and the electric future of downtown

If you stepped into the Fieldhouse Room at The District Tap last Thursday, you didn’t just walk into a watch party—you walked into a movement. Indy Maven teamed up with Eve Keller, the visionary and franchisee behind the upcoming The Sports Bra Indianapolis, for a night that celebrated the Big Ten Women’s Tournament and the booming landscape of women’s athletics in our city.

More Than a Watch Party

Mavens meeting for the March Meetup with Indy Bra SportsWhile the screens were locked on the hardwood, the real magic was happening at the tables. The room was packed with Mavens, sports fans, and local entrepreneurs, all gathered for one reason: to prove that women’s sports aren’t a niche interest—they are the main event. One thing that stood out? The genuine connections being created between women who met as strangers but left as friends.

The highlight of the evening was  Eve’s contagious excitement for the franchise and the plans the city of Indianapolis has for the future of women’s sports. As she prepares to open the Indy franchise of the West Coast ‘The Sports Bra’ concept, Eve spoke about her mission to create a space where the “volume is always up” for women’s games. This event embodied the Maven mindset. Mavens and sports enthusiasts showed up to support a new franchise and to snag the first-ever The Sports Bra Indy merch, to help fund the final push toward their grand opening.

The Vision of Downtown Indianapolis

As Indianapolis marches toward its 2050 Vision to become the global capital of women’s sports, the energy downtown is electric. Between the Indiana Fever’s meteoric rise and the new sports performance centers breaking ground nearby, the opening of a dedicated women’s sports bar is the missing piece of the puzzle for our downtown core. The evening underscored that supporting women in sports means supporting the entire local economy.

Having FOMO?

If you missed out on the merch or the conversation, don’t worry—this is just the beginning. The Sports Bra Indy is moving closer to its permanent home downtown, and we will be there every step of the way to cheer them on. Follow @thesportsbraindy to keep current on their journey to open the first spot in Indianapolis!
