Home Design Product Picks That Are All Made in the USA

We asked some of our favorite pros at the Indiana Design Center to tell us their must-haves that are made in the USA.
Made in the USA Home Products

If you’re looking to spruce up your home with an item that is made in the USA, you’re in luck. We asked some of Indy’s most respected local design professionals — all affiliated with the Indiana Design Center in Carmel — for their favorite design-related items that are made in America, and here’s what they said:

MADE IN THE USA PICK: SUB-ZERO REFRIGERATION

I am choosing Sub-Zero refrigeration as my favorite American-made product. I have been to the factory and I loved seeing that they mixed up the SKUs in their assembly line so that the workers didn’t get bogged down making the same item all day long. They would be making different sizes and configurations throughout the day so that no two were ever the exact same in line — that helps ensure workers are 100% focused on quality. You can count on Sub-Zero having great looking products that make statement pieces in kitchen spaces as well as manufacturing products that last for a long time.

MADE IN THE USA PICK: EAMES LOUNGE CHAIR AND OTTOMAN

Charles and Ray Eames created an icon with their Lounge Chair and Ottoman. Made in Leeland, Michigan, the designers wanted to create a comfortable fit, like a worn baseball glove. At Adam Gibson Design, we are all about comfort and modernist style and there’s no better American-made piece of furniture than the Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman to exemplify this.

Gotta love the Pot-Luck Planters made in neighboring Noblesville, Indiana! These round planters are 100% recyclable, lightweight, durable, and are available in seven colors to match any décor and in five sizes. They look fabulous with any décor, at home or at work, and are super cost-effective.

MADE IN THE USA PICK: LEON AND SEURA

Leon and Seura are the two American-made companies we love to use often in our projects.

Leon is based out of Ann Arbor, Michigan. They are a team of artists, designers, engineers, and craftsmen that have been meticulously handcrafting a full range of customizable speakers and technology concealment solutions for both residential and commercial spaces here in the U.S. Because we spend a great deal of time and effort collaborating with the homeowners, their architect, and their interior design team, we want to make sure that our technology and equipment blend beautifully and seamlessly into the home’s overall design. From motorized art lifts used to conceal televisions to Leon’s “Denza,” mimicking the look of a mantle and/or hearth, but instead designed to house and conceal equipment and speakers located at the television, these are just a couple of the products we work on, hand-in-hand with Leon, to provide a more aesthetically pleasing “finish” to the overall A/V experience in a home.

Seura is based out of Green Bay, Wisconsin. We enjoy specifying products manufactured by Seura because of their beauty and smart application. They are a team dedicated to finding the perfect harmony of design and technology. Their products range from outdoor televisions to lighted bathroom vanity mirrors, as well as mirrored televisions. Oftentimes, we find our clients trying to achieve multiple things in a particular space, whether it be their master bathroom, their outdoor lanai, or their formal family room. With Seura, we work with their team of experts to custom design these products to fit their every need.

MADE IN THE USA PICK: FAIRE

Faire is actually global, but we select “Made in the USA” as it supports other small, local businesses, such as ourselves. We love ordering pillows, accessories, and art from Faire versus some of the larger companies when we can. We love the idea of supporting unique, small businesses trying to get their products out there!

LAUREN TAYLOR, PRESIDENT OF HOLDER MATTRESS CO., INC.

MADE IN THE USA PICK: HOLDER MATTRESSES

We put American-made at the forefront of our mission and of course Holder Mattresses are our favorite 100% American-made product. Not only are the mattresses custom built in Kokomo, Indiana, but they are also made of American raw materials. We source everything from as close to home as possible. We do this to ensure we’re using the best quality of materials for durability, that they are free of toxins and harmful chemicals, and that our dollars stay here and support our neighbors. Utilizing the best local materials and building the best mattresses has been our mission for seventy-five years.

In partnership with the Indiana Design Center.
