5 Things I’m Loving This Week

Our editor-in-chief, Leslie Bailey, shares some of the local finds on her mind at the moment.
5 Things I'm Loving

Before she founded Indy Maven, our editor-in-chief Leslie Bailey was a lifestyle reporter with her finger on the pulse on all that’s happening in our fair city. In fact, all her friends asking her where to go and what to do helped plant the seed that would one day become this website. Her job may have evolved, but her keen sense of what’s cool has not. So we figured it made sense to check in with her every once and while to see what she’s obsessing over at the moment.

RADIO STARS

You can now catch our very own Music Maven DJ Gabby Love live on RadioNOW 100.9 with DJ Indiana Jones from 7-midnight on weekdays. Consider me her biggest stan.

FLIP AND SIP

We know Jess West has a creative mind based on her amazing costume designs and we’ve featured her masks before but for hard-core mask wearers her new flip and sip line is brilliant.

HEADSTRONG

I’m not proud of how rusty my history knowledge has become since my school days. And not being from Indiana, my knowledge about local women’s history is lacking. I’m also busy AF. The Headstrong series from WFYI (one of our amazing community partners) is a quick and digestible way to brush up!

MEAL PREP MARVEL

Listen up because what I’m about to tell you is a game changer: Order. Pre-made. Meals.

If this isn’t something you’ve tried yet, I highly recommend. Whether you’re busy with kids in school or virtual learning, trying to juggle work, or simply not a great cook—you deserve to treat yourself. Lately I’ve been trying out different meal deliveries and our recent order from Chef Tannoria did not disappoint. Sure, I can make meatloaf and mashed potatoes at home but after having hers, I’m not sure I ever will again.

COMING UP ROSES

With regular showers on the decline (I’m just being honest here), I need a quick way to feel fresh and Spruce and Bee’s rose toner is the trick. It’s also said to help with maskne. It’s now available in refill bottles so I can reuse the spritzer I already have. Win-win!
