Nicole Busch is a personal brand and style expert dressing Indianapolis one client at a time. She operates as Nicole Blair Wear, which is the platform she uses to teach women to dress for their body types and offer fashion advice. Busch also runs House of Blair, which is her curated line of fragrances, apparel, and jewelry.
Read on for her fashion advice, self-care tips, and wardrobe envy we need to inspire us as we head into the New Year.
My Maven Superpower is … people feel really comfortable around me once they get to know me.
The self-care habit I swear by is … baths. For me, they totally chill me out.
My favorite charity to give back to is … anything to do with supporting Down syndrome and therapy for children with exceptionalities. My nephew has Down syndrome, so it’s really close to my heart.
The best career advice I’ve ever received is … to fail big. Don’t be afraid to fail because we’re all going to. Nobody starts out successful. Everyone starts out as a beginner. Knowing that you’re going to fail and you’re not going to get things right is the best advice I’ve ever received. It also allows you to give yourself a little bit of grace along the way.
Purchase I’ve been obsessed with lately … is some wallpaper I just bought from the UK. It’s so amazing, I fell in love with it. I definitely splurged on it.
I feel most confident when …. I’m grounded. What I mean by that is I have a lot of rituals. I get up in the morning, I journal. I have my prayer time. I work out. I eat healthy. When I’m really in tune with myself and taking care of myself is when I feel my most confident. And of course, any time I wear leopard.

Local restaurant dish I can’t get enough of ….is the brussels sprouts at Anthony’s Chophouse.
Last show I binged on Netflix is …Dynasty. I’m embarrassed to say it. I love the fashion in it and it’s just mindless.
Best book I’ve read lately … is The Gap and The Gain. It’s a great book. It’s all about high achievers and how they can have happiness and confidence and success. But it’s also about the gap and the gain, like where do you live and usually you’re giving up one for the other. It’s pretty fascinating.
Go-to place to shop at … If I’m going to a boutique, I like 14th Districts. It has unique stuff that you don’t typically find in Indy. It does a really good job of pulling from different coasts and they have a little bit of what I like to call ‘resort wear.’
Clothing item I’m wearing all winter long … is my fur. I have a fur coat that is out there, but I love it. For all of those who don’t believe in real fur, you can go buy faux fur. I have a fur coat that I splurged on two years ago, and it’s the best investment I ever made. And I live in it all winter.
