JUNE 2021 OVERVIEW
Welcome to June, where, true to midsommar standards, we’re given over to a strange, dreamlike brand of whimsy. The overall tone of this month is about setting new goals amidst the sudden exposure of more chinks in the armor of the status quo. It’s almost laughable. How could it possibly get worse? May as well start over, and at this point, almost everyone’s itching for change.
In short, the first half of June will be focused on conflict resolution for resetting and establishing personal boundaries. The second half of the month focuses on putting changes into motion. We’ve got some planetary shifts and blips this month that will do two things: inspire and motivate us to change, while also stirring the pot, exposing more drama to an almost ludicrous extent. A solar eclipse in Gemini appears as a cosmic reset button.
With Jupiter retrograde in Aquarius on June 20th, many will adopt an almost anarchist attitude towards teamwork by the end of the month. Collaboration hasn’t been moving the needle, and there’s a definite sense that it’s every maven for themselves. Hybrid schedules and returning to the office could be driving you to your limit in June and with Jupiter reentering Aquarius, there’s a strange sense of déjà vu: there’s a war between the professional and personal self. As society starts to recognize that the standards of the past may no longer fit the current circumstances, June has us seeking revolution.
This will be especially clear on the 14th, when Saturn makes a square to Uranus. Saturn is the planet of work, rules, and obligation. Aquarius is the sign of ideals, imagination, and transformation. This square is going to be a wake-up call where limits are tested, unrest and violence persists, and this volatility pushes change. Still, change continues to be met with strong resistance from leadership: the system wants to maintain the status quo for its own benefit. There is a tone of the iconoclast in each of us this month, even as we are faced with a seemingly never ending sea of delays and mixed messages with Mercury stationed retrograde in Gemini until June 22nd. Be patient: Once the dust settles, the truth will be revealed.
These retrogrades are kind of working for and against each other in weird ways. Whether you’re fantasizing about a former fling or an old life you once loved, the insistent voice of Gemini is likely to embolden many of us to reach back out to “the one that got away.” It’s important to understand motivations when giving in to these urges, and then be explicitly clear about those intentions. Revisiting the past might just allow you to finally commit to a long-lost dream…or it might be exactly what you need to release an unrealistic fantasy. With the full moon in Capricorn on June 24th, if you want something, now is the time to go after it. Expect to feel pressure to say yes or no to an important decision around this time. If you want to release something, you risk it getting set in stone if you don’t take action. What might be will never be if you do nothing and this eclipse season is exactly the medicine for some much needed change.
BIRTHDAY SPOTLIGHT: GEMINI (May 21-June 20)
You’re not afraid, but you should be. Classic for you: Alfred E. Neuman’s never-ending anthem, “What, Me Worry?” now resounding louder than ever as the incandescent mantra counteracting the doubts that keep sneaking up on you. You are changing and you know it, but you won’t let yourself analyze what you can’t control. And this process starting at the solar eclipse in your sign on June 10th is definitely not under your control.
Nothing will be the same next year because of what happens this summer (no pressure), but this eclipse season has you positioned center stage as the guest of honor. Events that are setting off bombs in one area of your life, will create a cascade of successive changes in your career, home, relationships, and even identity. You’re moving forward, Gem, and the message you receive this month self-destructs after reading. Plans you have will change this birthday season, but everything is leading you onto the path you were born to walk. We know this sounds mythic, but honestly, it’s going to feel that way in the next few months. As the only mutable air sign, you’re used to working with small but constant changes on a local level. You are being asked to think globally at this time and for the next 6 months of this eclipse elliptic. At the full moon in Capricorn that punctuates the other end of your birthday season, you’ll be experiencing an ending or culmination that you never thought would ever come to pass. It’s time for you to burn the field and start over. You can trust whatever growth appears from the mulch of this very serious ending will be around for a very long time.

Cancer (June 21-July 22)
Babe, wake up. Your time for slumber is overrrr and soon we’ll enter your season! But first, Venus will enter Cancer in your first house (the part of your chart that shapes your identity and self). You will be especially lucky in matters of the heart, particularly where asking for what you want is involved. Get comfortable with making demands, even if it feels like you’re asking for too much. You’re usually the giver but throughout the month of June, allow the shoe to be on the other foot. The reason this is so supercharged right now is because the planet of action, Mars, is entering Leo in the part of your chart that controls finances. You are graced with the gift of being understood and getting what tf you want this month, but also be aware that we’re in several retrogrades right now, and things can be muddied. One second your ex is super appealing and the next, you’re repulsed. Ask for what you want: you’ll get it, so be sure it’s what you really want.
Leo (July 23-August 22):
You are picking up on something that nobody else is feeling right now and intuiting a change before it comes to life. It might seem crazy and it’s possible you could come off as a little unhinged when you, of all people, turn down an engagement. It’s just that something simply does not feel right to you, and being forced to sit with yourself this past year has given you lots of space to feel comfortable hearing that little niggling voice from within. And now that you’re in tune, what once might have felt like an “idea” might be an intuitive hit that rings clear as a bell. It feels like suddenly you know with crystal clarity when to listen to yourself—this is because the lovey-feely planet, Venus, is hitting your 12th house of unseen reality and suddenly your subconscious is speaking to you. “That speaks to me.” This month you are being urged to let something die. If it doesn’t fit, you know it’s not yours. Let it go so someone else can be delighted in the surprise of discovery.
Virgo (August 23-September 22)
It feels only appropriate for you to find yourself reveling in delight at expanding your horizons in a career sense. You absolutely freaking love seeing a plan come together without a hitch, but, as you know, it doesn’t always work out that way. Something you thought was going to happen for you a long time ago might come back to haunt you this month, as you spend some time reflecting on what brought you to your current situation. You have always had a penchant for a bit of realistic optimism and at one point, you thought anything was possible. What was that like? The stars are forcing you back into a state of wonder with an almost childlike outlook—because you would never willingly choose to go there of your own volition. It’s really difficult for you to look at something with a child’s eyes, especially when it comes to serious matters, like your career. But you’re going to need the aid of a sense of wonder in order to expand past your current state.
Libra (September 23-October 22)
Baby Libra, you’re wearing a suit of armor this month and ready to tackle some hefty subjects with a velvet glove. A relationship conversation that may have started around the lunar eclipse on May 27th, is starting to bear fruit around the solar eclipse in Gemini on Jun 10th. Expect events and inner-workings that you thought were molehills to climb to mountain status in the month of June. We swear, it’s for your highest good, but you are being pushed to act—something your sign only does when the way is clear and you’ve already weighed the pros and cons. There won’t be time for that so just go with whatever comes up. You may need to renegotiate the terms of a friendship or partnership and barter for more time and attention. If not a relationship matter, you’re being called to reach out to someone from your past. It’s time to stir up your baggage, so all the BS isn’t settling to the bottom anymore. Let things break so they can be mended back better than they were before.
Scorpio (October 23-November 21)
Not everything is for you, babe. You know this probably better than anyone but this month, with eclipse season and Mercury retro, you’re getting acquainted with your “sacred no.” It’s time to close the hatch and let people know what it’s going to feel like to lose you. We don’t mean wild and passive aggressive ghosting, just tiny doses of withdrawal that let people organically come to the conclusion that you are important and you’re not fucking around. You are a rare and acquired taste and the solar eclipse on June 10th will showcase your ability at work and around the house. You deserve more, but no one’s going to believe it until you stop accepting less. At the full moon in Capricorn on June 24th, you’ll see rapid changes coalesce in the areas you reclaimed your power.
Sagittarius (November 22-December 21)
It’s a mess, isn’t it? But it’s beautiful too, right? Good plans are worthless if the topography changes and for you, the map is not the territory this month. The solar eclipse in Gemini on June 10th has you thinking about formalizing a commitment with someone you just started dating, or alternately taking a big-deal step with a business partner or romantic partner. Like a weird storm that creates the perfect conditions for lightning to strike the earth, you are being led down a path you may never have chosen if the universe didn’t vehemently and insistently intervene. At the full moon in Capricorn on June 24th, the last thing you want to do is settle, but the conditions are ripe for you to make an investment: in your body, finances, or self-worth. You’re pocketing the dividends over the next six months.
Capricorn (December 22-January 19)
There’s not much that gets past your grainy vision, Cap, but this month a random mistake may actually make you grateful for the little blips and miscommunications that you typically spend months attempting to circumvent. With Mercury stationed retrograde, all manner of happenings are on the fritz, but particularly your work/habits. You’re getting the opportunity to change something that you thought had been set in stone on this front. Fancy a different role? Want your boss’ job or a massive restructuring of your current one? There’s a topsy-turvy quality to your identity this month that could have you inherited long dreamed-of changes that wouldn’t have happened if your grip on reality had not massively changed with eclipse season. Let the next month open you up to a new way of doing the same thing.
Aquarius (January 20-February 18)
Wow. You’re ready to shine this month and No. One. Can. Hold. You. Back. Your naturally impressive stamina is being activated in the love life and creativity sector of your chart. It’s time for you to dream bigger than ever and bring the initial phases of a spicy matter of the heart to a crescendo. Like a video game, you have reached the next level of hero’s journey: the rules have changed, the scenery is different, and the final boss seems impossible. You’re ready to drive something home that was started around the lunar eclipse on May 27th. You’ll see major changes over the next 30 days as you shift from the superficial and corporeal to the holographic and supernatural at the full moon in Capricorn on June 24th. Something that started as a mild flirtation or fun side project will expand until it starts to have a life of its own.
Pisces (February 19-March 20)
You’ve about had it with the outsized expectations of others this month, baby Pisces. You’re ready to curl up into a little ball and shut the whole damn world out. Sadly, it won’t be that easy during eclipse season, with Mercury Retrograde encouraging ex-flames and old friends to text you out of the blue and all manner of unexpected unfurlments to rear their ugly head. You’re ready for some quiet nesting time amidst all the lunar changes on June 10th, but before you get set to hibernate, consider whether you really like your nest the way it is. Like a tender hermit crab, you may be encouraged (*cough cough* forced) to change abodes or make sweeping changes in where you see yourself settling down (in love or work). By the full moon in Capricorn on June 24th, you may decide to move in with a friend or put your offer in on a dream house. Over the next six months, you’re going to feel much more settled and more comfortable than you thought possible during this chaotic and uprooting time.
Aries (March 21-April 19)
Are you pushing harder than you really need to be? It’s totally natural for you to be in the driver’s seat and you’re obsessed with making progress when you invest time and energy in a situation… but we’re just saying, you should seriously reconsider how much effort you’re putting forth. Take a step back and look: Are you trying to control situations that don’t matter to you? It’s likely you’ve forced control over a situation you literally could not care less about, while someone else cares so much. This month is a good time to take a look at where you can be gentler, kinder, and take up less space. You will be feeling humbled and inspired by the resilience of your friends, and there is a lesson in everything. You’re still gonna have a good month, but things are quieter, making you wanna be quieter, too. There is something to learn from everyone right now and when you dial back your tendency to push hard, it’s easier to listen. You will catch more flies with honey.
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
You need 👏 more 👏 money 👏 right now and throughout this month, it’ll just seem like there’s never enough. There is enough and more is always on its way, but the sun in Gemini is hitting your financial sector, and since Mercury is retrograde in Gemini, too, things feel extra tight. It’s an illusion, though, and probably more of an issue with ~security~ than actual financial challenges. Nevertheless, now is a great time to revise your budget and reign in your spending. The way these planets are hitting your chart offers an excellent opportunity to get it together: yay, your favorite! Also, there is a chance of miscommunication with a high probability of crying. You are really in need of some positive reinforcement right now but we can’t guarantee you will get it. You don’t always get what you need but if you get it yourself you can get what you want.
